The team over at Disney Dreamlight Valley has asked for suggestions in the past, and some have been taken on board and implemented into the game. A recent suggestion was that players be able to make Touch of Magic items invisible when taking DreamSnaps, and that is something that you can now do.
It's buggy and barely works, but it is a feature that was added to the game.
Following the latest post from DDV, which was shared on the game’s official Facebook page on July 25, 2024, it's clear that Disney Dreamlight Valley players are frustrated with plenty of elements of the game. There are some great suggestions, but also a wave of unhappy players who have been asking for the same updates for some time.
The official DDV page asks players what features or changes they'd want to see "make their way into an update," and, at the time of posting this news piece, there are 1.7k comments. The majority of these are players making suggestions and responding to each other, rather than any action from the GameLoft Disney Dreamlight Valley team.
They replied to a single comment, which was this stream of suggestions, which I have cleaned up a little for better comprehension and to explain what some of the suggestions are:
- Toggle items on/off in Scrooge's windows instead of having empty windows, which occurs when you've purchased all full-length outfits in your store.
- A search feature for cooking and furniture because scrolling takes forever.
- Highlight ordered meals in Remy's restaurant. It's easy to forget what everyone ordered.
- Better path-to-building alignment. They don't line up properly, leaving a lip to the path.
- Do more with companions: Feed, bathe, pet, teach tricks, etc.
- More default hairstyles and/or wigs.
- Move Goofy's stalls. You can't move them outside of their original biome.
- Capes. Currently non-existent in-game.
- Music selection; pick the theme music you want to listen to, even if you have a character following you. Unlock new songs and collect music discs. Not currently available in-game.
DDV replied, "Amazing suggestions, thank you!" to this comment, and only this one, despite numerous players commenting their own suggestions, issues, complaints, and more.
Top suggestions for Disney Dreamlight Valley
- Season changes in the Valley.
- Larger item limit (especially on the Nintendo Switch).
- Crossplay for PlayStation.
- Higher player level cap.
- Faster cooking options.
- Curves in paths and ability to move ponds.
- Disassembling items that have been crafted.
- Sell furniture back to Scrouge.
- A search function for recipes and furniture.
- Improve the camera for DreamSnaps and photos.
These are the most requested suggestions from the post or the suggestions that had a huge amount of likes. There are also a couple in there that I, personally, agree with. They are in no particular order.
The item limit issue on the Nintendo Switch is a hardware problem. The console can't handle the game. I find this incredibly frustrating as a Switch DDV player because this wasn't ever made clear before I purchased the game last year. Thankfully, I can crossplay with my laptop if I want to, but I'd need to buy a second copy of the game.
